About Yuzhe (Robert) Song

Yuzhe Song (宋宇哲), who also goes by Robert Song, is a postdoc fellow at the Swinburne University of Technology and the ARC Center of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav). He obtained his PhD from the Graduate Center, City Unversity of New York and the American Museum of Natural History. The main research focus for his PhD dissertation is gamma-ray astrophysics, using Fermi-LAT data to detect faint gamma-ray sources with stacking methods. About the Name

The name Yuzhe in Chinese, 宇哲,has a special meaning. The character 宇(Yu) means the Universe, and 哲(Zhe) means philosophy. Together it can be interpreted as the “philosophy of the Universe”.
